Nussdorf ist ein bezauberndes und Nussdorf is an enchanting and typical Bavarian village with untouched village life, surrounded by unspoiled nature. An original village which maintains and lives the customs and traditions such as the Waldfest or the Leonhardiritt. The picturesque village centre of baroque churches and imposing farmhouses surrounded by natural orchard meadows and blooming front gardens has received multiple awards: Nußdorf was the regional and state winner on the Bavarian “Unser Dorf soll schöner werden - Unser Dorf hat Zukunft” competition in 2001, and in 2004 it also won a gold medal in the European “Entente Florale” competition!
Nußdorf is a village of artists. Glass artist Florian Lechner and ice sculptor Christian Staber regularly display their works in Nußdorf. Well-known artists such as Peter Kalman or Carl August Neven du Mont have also found their home in Nußdorf. Guided culture walks bring you closer to art and culture. Anyone who wants to learn more about the history of Nußdorf can experience this on a guided tour of the village.
A walk through the wild and romantic Mühltal brings the history of the technology and life on the Nußdorf stream back to life. It is an open-air museum which can be visited all year round. The 3.5 kilometre long Mühlenweg traces the history of the operations which made use of the water power of the stream with its 18 stops. So, in its heyday in the 19th century, there were 15 different factories and mills including a flour mill, a sawmill, a gypsum mill, an oil mill, a threshing mill, a hammer mill, a tannery and a power station in operation.
Relax and unwind with a pleasant walk through flowering meadows, with massages or with yoga, or simply enjoy a relaxing evening with a few beers. And active holidaymakers can also find plenty of opportunities with us for focusing on the sporty side of life. Well-kept clearly signposted walking and cycle paths, Nordic walking routes, a heated swimming pool and other sports facilities invite movement and balance in the summer. In the winter, a proper toboggan run from Heuberg down to the valley provides plenty of fun and, with sufficient amounts of snow, there are also cross-country skiing trails around Nußdorf.
